Yesterday when looking up at all of the benefits Young Living's Lemongrass Essential oil has I happened upon one use that I didn't quite imagine...it can be used as deodorant. Now, it makes sense. Lemongrass is antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiseptic..among many more! So it makes sense it would work as a deodorant. Our armpits smell because of bacteria. Well, I expected it to work how most store-bought deodorants work....really great at first and within a few hours I would need to reapply, especially in this 80 degree humid weather (while I was at work, no less).
As someone who is a big skeptic (you probably don't believe that but it is true) I did not expect the results I got. When I put it on at 11am with a 2 drops lemongrass 4 drops EVOO ratio, it smelled strong. When I went to get in the shower at 10pm it still smelled strong. In addition, all day I did not feel sweaty. I personally was not looking to use it as an antiperspirant. While that is still up in the air, I will say as a deodorant it worked 110% for me. Not only did it stop smells from occurring, but it maintained a strong pleasant scent.
Know someone with BO? Kindly gift them a bottle of lemongrass and start hinting them some suggestions.
